Autobrennero Group
Subsidiaries and Associates
The Autobrennero Group develops and manages strategic shareholdings in the road and rail transport infrastructure sectors with the aim of contributing to the development of an integrated, efficient, and sustainable transport system at both national and European level.
The Company is currently engaged in the construction of two strategic projects for the road network in Northern Italy: the ARC (Cispadana Regional Motorway), which will link Reggiolo to Ferrara (linking onto the Ferrara Sud junction of the A13 Bologna–Padua motorway), and the AUTOCS, the Campogalliano–Sassuolo motorway link, an extension of the A22 at its junction with the A1, continuing on to the SS467 ‘Pedemontana’ state road in Sassuolo. Autobrennero holds controlling stakes in these projects, with 54.3% and 51.0% of the shares, respectively.
Since the 1990s, aware of the constant increase in traffic, the Company has actively promoted intermodal transport through a direct controlling stake in STR – Brennero Trasporto Rotaia, the parent company of STR2. The latter holds a controlling stake in InRail (100%) and RTC – Rail Traction Company (95.53%), as well as approximately 50% of Lokomotion (20% held directly and 30% via RTC).
Thanks to this integrated system, Autobrennero has established itself as one of the leading cross-border operators in the freight transport sector in Italy.
