Motorway Operation Centre (COA) and Road Police
The COA coordinates the Road Police patrols that monitor the motorway 24/7. The Road Police service along the A22 is organised by the Trentino-Alto Adige and Belluno, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy Divisions, which oversee the four Sub-sections of Vipiteno, Trento, Verona South and Modena North; the Mantua section forms part of the Verona South Sub-section. Their duties range from preventing and recording breaches of the Highway Code to investigating accidents, from organising services for the regulation and monitoring of traffic to aiding motorists requiring assistance. The COA and CAU are based in the same building and work in close collaboration to ensure prompt and effective responses.
